I am selling my 2001 BMW Z3 Coupe. This car is extremely rare and not easy to find.
The Good!
• This car is seriously rare and is a head turner. I am constantly stopped and asked what kind of car it is and whether it is a new model.
• Low miles for a 2001, 87,500+ (this will go up as the car is my daily driver).
• This is a later model and has the biggest engine they offered; a 3 liter straight 6. They only made this body style from 1998 to 2002.
• The interior is an 8/10
• It has a Remus muffler, this was installed by the previous owner. Other than that the car is bone stock.
The car is an automatic that can be manually shifted. You can decided whether it being an automatic a bad or good thing. I can say the majority of these cars are manual, making this more rare...
The Bad.
• The DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) is completely shot, this is the biggest problem with the car. I bought the car 2 years ago with this problem and have tried to diagnose it but haven't had any luck. This does not affect the divability of the car. I just don't recommend driving in the snow.
• There are some blemishes in the paint. The paint on the driver side lip under the window is peeling. The paint on the front bumper is quite chipped. I attached photos of these two problem spots.
• The window is cracked on the driver side but it has stopped and won't grow. I honestly can say I have no idea why I haven't fixed it, it is a $250 fix.
Don't let the bad things scare you off, this car is still amazing and if taken care of will hold its value and even gain value as these cars are becoming more and more sought after.
Kelly Blue Book values this car at around $13000 in its condition. I am asking $8,500 because of the issues it has. With the exceptions listed above the car runs and drives fine and is my daily driver and has been for 2 years.
