2002 BMW Z3 Coupe. Last model year of this great sports car. I bought car as certified used vehicle from Fields BMW in Chicago in the Fall of 2002. The first owner had the car for ~9 months. No mechanical issues ever. Had routine brake work done several years ago. Tires are about 2 years old. I drive the car <4000 miles annually on average. Although I live in Wisconsin (54301), the car has never seen snow, ice, or salt. Kept in garage all winters. Manuals, both keys, and radio code are all present.
This has the Sport package. Multiple "M" badges are present altho not a true M car. This does give it wider rear wheels and a lower stance than the standard model.
All usual features including working air conditioning, traction and stability control, heated seats, driver's side power seat, power windows, power locks. All instruments work perfectly.
I felt the stock Harmon Kardon stereo totally sucked. I kept the standard BMW Business CD radio. I added an 8 channel A/D/S amp in the cargo area. All the door speakers were upgraded to A/D/S speakers and a generic dual voice coil 12" sub lives in the cargo area. It is relatively easy to temporarily remove if you feel the need to haul more stuff. There is also a remote sub level control in the center console behind the cup holders.
Negatives: As seen in the pictures there is a little loss of the dye in the leather of the edge of the drivers seat and a little loss on the seat itself. There are multiple tiny paint chips on the hood and front fenders from road debris. these are visible in the photo of the hood as tiny white specks near bottom of photo. The nose had an incident with a very steep driveway resulting in damage to the lowermost portion of the front bumper. Never got around to having replaced but painted over with some touch-up paint as seen in photo. the wheels have some defects of finish. No losses or cracks. The original floor mats are present. The drivers side has some serious wear, the passenger side nearly pristine. The shift knob has some wear (I guess I like to grip it a lot when driving). The sunroof has an issue in that one of the arms that opens and closes the glass is broken. This is unfortunately, a common problem with this particular style of sunroof. I have it in fully closed position and it does not leak or have any wind noise in this position. It will open but will not close without some serious help. These can be repaired but the part is expensive (of course, it's BMW).
Overall this is by far the most fun car I have ever owned. I am selling as I am downsizing and don't need yet another vehicle.
