I have a 2000 BMW Z3 Coupe, Alpine White on Beige Extended Leather. The car has 21,XXX miles. I have owned it for a year, but need to move into something more practical for long drives.
The car has a rebuilt salvage title, currently titled in Ohio. It was given a salvage title because the cigarette lighter wiring caught fire and burnt through the wiring harness. It then sat in a salvage barn for 10 years, until the previous owner bought it and did the following:
-Sourced OEM wiring harness and re-wired the car (only thing that doesn't work is cruise control)
-Swapped in a manual transmission, and differential from a Z3 M coupe. Swapped all fluids. The transmission has about 60,000 miles on it. He also put in a new flywheel and clutch. This gives the car a much more stout transmission, with parts available from ZF (as apposed to the original getrag).
-Drove the car from 8000 miles to 14000 miles
-Previous owner rebuilt cars for a living and had the car titled to his import repair business.
I have driven the car from 14000 to 21000. The car is super clean. The interior is in great shape. The only imperfections are a slice in the carpet where they re-ran the harness and a few scuffs on the interior plastic by the driver seat.
I love this car so much. Its quick and it is unbelievably beautiful. I would never sell it if I didn't need another vehicle so i don't have to put miles on my M5. The car is one of a kind (literally only car in that combo). I know BMWs and have been heavily involved in them for the last 3 years. The car's oil has been changed every 6K miles with Liqui Moly 5w-30.
The mirrors, side grille, and kidney grille are currently plasti-dip'd black. I can revert it to stock, pictured, easily. If you don't know plastidip, it just peels off.
